It may take the form of a story, conversation, question, argument, image, performance, design, refusal, or declaration. Expression does not require permission or universal agreement. It requires enough freedom for something real to be made perceptible.

SELF

Give your experience form.

Find language, movement, imagery, sound, style, or another medium through which your experience can become visible.

SYSTEM

Reveal what is difficult to see.

Use expression to make a system’s assumptions, operations, exclusions, effects, and Human consequences easier to perceive.

SOCIETY

Add to the collective record.

Bring perspectives, identities, experiences, and possibilities into the public imagination rather than leaving them unrepresented.
